The National AIDS Program, with support from the guidance department of the Ministry of Education, hosted its biennial Peer educators training program from Monday July 9th to Friday July 13th, 2007 under the theme; Youth Peer Educators’: Helping Our Peers Excel (H.O.P.E.).
On Wednesday May 9th the National AIDS Program met with guidance counselors and members of the youth department to Review the current HIV Peer educators programs within the Nation’s High Schools and to plan for the upcoming five day biennial youth Peer Educators training and year round updates. The meeting took place at the National AIDS Program Office on Grand Turk.
The National AIDS Program, with assistance from JHIEPGO (John Hopkins Program for International Education in Gynecology and obstetrics), conducted its second training for Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) service providers. The course ran from March 26th to 30th, 2007at the National Museum on Grand Turk.
The Turks & Caicos Islands Persons for Positive Action (TCIPPA+) was established in October 2005, by a group of concerned persons who are desirous of working together to bring about changes to improve the quality of life for persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families.
