Community leaders should educate persons about the virus HIV, and the disease, AIDS. Adults and teens should know information such as: what aids means; its causes and effects; and how to protect oneself from getting it.

More HIV/AIDS testing should be done in each district. Peer counselors can go into homes and simply talk with families and inspire them to get tested. Persons can also be encouraged to act responsibly and ensure that each partner gets tested before having sexual intercourse.

The print and audiovisual media can be fully utilized whereby health officers have open discussions to highlight the dangers of having unprotected sex.

The Church, as well as the family, needs to take the responsibility to impart strong moral values to their members. Thus, negating promiscuous lifestyles. At the same time, abstinence should be promoted as the best solution for the AIDS crisis.

On the other hand the HIV/AIDS stigma and discrimination need to be uprooted in our communities. Residents need to be aware that AIDS attacks everyone including non-promiscuous persons; therefore, people living with AIDS should be utilized in our communities to share first hand experiences with to the residents.

In conclusion, a collective effort involving the entire community is definitely essential if we are to stop AIDS.
